- Try a light bulb called "true-color" (from GE's Reveal line). This type of bulb throws off cool light and will make browns and reds pop from fabric and artwork. The bluish cast filters out yellow tones for crisp light - ideal for reading and detail work.
- Accessorize with a little black. Black accent pieces such as a picture frame or small vase will enhance the other colors in the room.
- When choosing a sofa - try to select a solid color because it stays in style longer and easier to update; also choose a neutral color for better flexibility in mixing with other pieces. For interest and depth choose a color with texture.
- If you really want to incorporate the trendy and latest colors that are bolder in pattern and color; use them in your accessories, pillows, artwork or smaller upholstered pieces because they are easier and more economical to change out
